I have a 1998 saturn sl2 that has a blown head gasket, oil cover is yellow and milkish, would I'd be better to replace head gasket or just put in a newer motor and what motor would fit

So I would pull a motor from a junk yard, find a nice low mileage SL or SC with a 1.9L that is set up with your trans config (manual/auto). You can get a completely rebuilt crate engine for more than the car is worth, or rebuild the top end of the current engine. It would just depend on if the head itself is cracked/warped. Only a mechanic can tell you that. I love these cars. My 2nd SL (also a 1998 just turned 100k miles the other day) she'll go another 200k.
