The very first thing you need to to is find out what is making the engine overheat. Bad or clogged radiator, lose coolant, cooling fan(s) not working. A quick way to find if the radiator fan is not working is by starting the car and turning the a/c on, the fan should come on. If the fan does not work, check the fuses and the relay, may be blown. There are other reasons for the overheating, these are the most common.
