It's major surgery. It's DIY if you have a decent to good tool kit, fundamental mechanical skills, a book on it, a case of beer and nothing else to do for a weekend

why did this happen? did someone not pay attention to the light or flashing indicator? the smell of popcorn? drive until completely toasted?...y'see we have to know how deep are we into this? melted connecting rods? was it smokin' about to catch fire?~

CAR WAS RUNNING FINE AND CUT OFF. I PUT WATER IN OVER FLOW TANK AND TRIED 2 START IT. WATER SHOT BACK OUT OF OVER FLOW TANK. HEAD GASKET BLOWN RIGHT!

yay....it finally posted....there's the head gasket job right there~
A compression check could possibly tell you for sure if its a head gasket issue.
