Why won't my 2001 SL1 car turn over?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My vehicle was running just fine yesterday.
This morning I stopped to grab something
at the store, and when I came back to leave,
I turn the key and the engine did not fire up.
I did this several times and I have come up
with the same results. I replaced my spark
plug and my battery is fairly new. Thanks.

No crank. I hear the deathly sound of silence when I turn the key to start. I just attempted to jump my car and it did not start up.

Or, check the fuel pump, you can usually hear the pump engage when the key is turned to start. I have same issue after replacing the pump even. Maybe defective pump I thought (my car is a 2002 Saturn L100).
