2007 PT Cruiser - AC clutch went out

Asked by bronneca Apr 25, 2016 at 03:40 PM about the 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser Touring Wagon FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2 part question:
1. Is repairing(vs replacing) the AC clutch ok for long term reliability?  Or
am I going to have to repair it over and over again?
2. Replacing the AC clutch requires a whole list of items(according to the
Sears auto dept).  What is the "shopping list" of additional items I may
need.  I've found a new compressor/clutch kit, but what is included in that
kit?  Is it all there or are there other pieces I need to buy separately? (coils,
belt, etc)  Would appreciate an itemized list so I can find the parts myself,
instead of the $2000 price tag that I was just quoted (with $1500 being in
parts alone).  Thanks!
