It could just be brake chatter from the calipers gripping the rotors. Test this by going to an empty parking lot and put the SUV in reverse, slowly accelerate to no more than 3-5mph and pump the brakes a few times until you come to a complete stop. Do this again, but this time moving forward. Again, do this at very low speeds in an area free of traffic. If the noise persists. It could be the brakes, or it could be the tranny, I need more information. (Any trouble with the car shifting on its own, sluggish?) Ill monitor your post. Best of luck.
