Common parts between 2WD & AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

another silly question! Sorry! My old 2WD 1995 Astro is looking less and less
likely to be reparable. I can buy a 1995 AWD for a good price... are many of the
ancilliary parts interchangeable? Have new exhaust, starter motor, wiper motor,
brake calipers, some steering components  and so on. In France we have to
pay the scrappy to take our cars, so whatever I can save ...

As far as I can tell most everything hardware will transfer over except the transmission/transfer case assembly and the front differential and drivelines.
