Tahoe tranny problems?

Asked by Skyhighhoe Oct 22, 2019 at 04:59 PM about the 1996 Chevrolet Tahoe LT 2-Door 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hey guys I have a 1996 Tahoe I recently picked up
from out of town. I've driven it maybe a dozen
times or so just to and from town and never had a
problem with it until a couple days ago. It shifts
perfectly smooth through every gear until I get to
highway speed, after doing 90 or 100kmh it starts
picking up and dropping from overdrive and when
it shifts back into overdrive its a hard hit, like a
solid clunk. And more so when it's warm, could this
be a computer problem, valve body or possibly a
solenoid? I seen a video of someone running a
jumper in the plugs on the computer. Would that be
my solution?

@tennisshoes Thanks for the reply. I'm hoping for some home remedies that I can try myself before digging that deep but I guess there's really no way around taking it to a real shop hey?
