Just purchased a 96 Tahoe. I need to get some
more power out of here before I decide to out a  
supercharger on her. Any suggestions what I can
do before that.

There isn't much you can do to the vortec to make it more powerful for cheap. To really make gains you can start thinking head work, a good cam and tune. If you want real power, ls swap.
