I'm guessing the car has a hundred-thousand miles on it. If so, and the car's otherwise in excellent condition, it's probably worth north of $3,000. The chain replacement should eat up most of that. If you love the car, it might be worth the investment. But as Cadillac's go, it's likely better to just get $500 from a salvage yard.
