Loss of power

I have a 2001 GMC Sierra 2500 diesel it lost power
going down the highway and wouldn't go over 65
mph check engine light came on  but now it's
running normal I want to see what can I do to fix
the problem.

Sounds like it may have got some air into the fuel system. Check the fuel filter for leaks and moisture.
