Oil pressure

Asked by Guru1GFXL Oct 05, 2019 at 03:26 PM about the 2006 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE1 Crew Cab 5.8 ft. RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When starting my 06 GMC Sierra oil
pressure goes to about 28 to 30 then
as it warms up about 10 miles down
the road it slowly builds up to 45-55 .
At idle it’s about 35 with ac on
sometime a lifter noise till I speed up
any ideas ?

Try switching your oil to valvoline 5/20. I have had several Chevy trucks and they have all used synthetic but I switch to regular conventional oil. The tic will subside or disappear completely !
