How do I solve this brake problem?

Asked by Nathan Sep 14, 2014 at 12:10 PM about the 2001 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE Extended Cab LB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just replaced the rotors, pads, and calipers on my truck.  The brakes work ok but now the brake light stays on blinking and dings when moving.  In addition to this when I am stopping the ABS kicks in.  Was something done improperly or is it the computer?

The ABS kick on EVERY time you stop? You can feel the pedal pulsate? Vincent and Jules would take it to the Wolf ya know

OK seriously, probably something during re-assembly if there were no problems before. Too much coincidence for the brain to go bad right then

I agree. Inspect your work. Some vehicles have abs sensors mounted behind the rotors. And if they get damaged or out of adjustment this can happen.
