sounds like something is going to rip thyough my dasboard ac not working

1. turned ac up making loud noise behind the glove box and bow not working,
2. hard to start. have to turn it 4 times

Sounds like the AC compressor bearing or the compressor itself is bad. You should be able to tell if it is a bearing by taking the serpentine belt off and checking all pulleys. Everything should spin smooth with no play in the pulleys.
