Asked by Wolfrrun7444 Oct 12, 2008 at 07:19 PM about the 1995 Buick Riviera Supercharged Coupe FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Traction control light comes on after about 5 miles of driving.  What causes this?  If I turn off the Traction Control System, could I harm the brake system or transmission.

check the wheel end of your axle shafts for broke, cracked, chipped, or debris in the abs gear and the flange. ( right up close to the wheel hub as it passes through the spindle into the wheel hub, it looks like a gear , and has a sensor just above ( looks like a magnet with wires comeing out the top ) it might have broken wires or clip.
