Electrical problem

Asked by JMFORD_82 Sep 05, 2018 at 09:10 AM about the 2007 Ford Explorer XLT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Had to have a jumpstart out of nowhere today.  Then while
driving home I hit a bump and the radio cut out, then all
sorts of dash lights came on..... brake, theft, check engine.
The engine never cut out but all electrical was crazy for a
few seconds and suddenly everything was fine.  The radio
station I had listening to even came back on.  Did not seem
to affect any pre-programing.    The rest of the drive went
fine and as I got home and turn the vehicle off I hit the lock
button on the door as I was getting out and noticed a lack
of umph.  Any ideas where I should start?

I would recommend you stop by your local auto shop (Autozone, O'Rileys, Advanced Auto Parts, Pep Boys, ect.) and have them test the battery and alternator. There could be other issues but this is the best place to start. Hope this helps.

Had that happen on my 2008 it was the alternator. Every light came on a warning sound like I never heard. Car would start but quit when you tried to drive
