2006 Hyundai Santa Fe won't pass emissions.

Asked by Kathy May 21, 2015 at 06:06 PM about the 2006 Hyundai Santa Fe 2.7L GLS AWD

Question type: General

2006 Hyundai Santa Fe won't give complete computer read out to pass emissions after 3
tries.  Had recently changed battery & tech said that resets computer.  Also, car just turned
over 60,000 miles (don't know if that's relevant or not)  Keep telling me to drive it around.
Have driven it over 300 miles now & is still not giving full  readout.  Autozone put it on
computer & it shows only 5 out of 7 items are ready.  Told me I need to have 6 to pass AZ
emissions.   Engine light is not & has not come on.  Any suggestions?

Most DMV won't pass a car if the computer has been recently reset.... put a couple hundred miles or wait about a week before you try again .... unless of course the computer shows a problem

I did that. They told me to drive it around after each of the 3 times it failed. I've driven it a total of over 500 miles & have gone back & it still hasn't passed. I have family members who live outside the city. My tag expires on 31st. I can't go back for another emission test until 5/27. If it doesn't pass then, I'm going to go to their county & register it at their address. I'm sick of this crap.

5 out of 7 are ready? What is ready ,, what are the items that are not ready? We can't help if we have no clue why you are failing.
