2007 Hyundai Accent throwing p0327 code, replaced part still throwing code

Asked by Kani Oct 15, 2017 at 03:15 PM about the 2007 Hyundai Accent GS 2-Door Hatchback FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Just bought the car 2 days ago with 89k. Was
driving fine until yesterday, check engine light
turned on and started having fluxuating idle
between 1 - .5. Ran the code at AutoZone, said it
was the knock sensor. Bought and replaced it,
didn’t fix any issues and light is still on. Going to
replace spark plugs and coils to be safe. Any ideas?

Replace the knock sensor harness. Especially if they are wrapped around the engine or exhaust manifold as they melt internally and have shorts. This happened to me and since it was a 4 hour job I did replace sensors while I was in there but my issue was the harness. The sensors tested good but I only spent $30 total dollars for both new sensors

Haven’t cleared the codes, but it’s still having a fluxuating idle. Too afraid to drive it anywhere, feels like it’s about to die every time I stop. Accelerates poorly in 1st and 2nd gear as well. We have a neighbor who has a code reader so might ask him when he’s around.

See if any other codes show up due to your idle issue. Could be that you haven’t cleared the knock code?

Updating - we replaced the spark plugs and ignition coils and it fixed all the issues. No CEL, idle is normal and it’s accelerating normally again (it as really sluggish). Thanks for the advice!
