1997 Chevy suburban tranny

Asked by Dean Apr 10, 2017 at 01:26 AM about the 1997 Chevrolet Suburban C1500 RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 97 suburban tranny is slipping. I have to
get it to over 2500 rpms let off the gas and
push the gas again to get it to shift from
1st to 2nd. I need to know what I can do to
fix it. I do not have the money to replace
the transmission and need to be able to haul
things with my vehicle but can't with my
transmission slipping. Also going up hill my
trans temp if I push it will get over 180F° if
that's relevant at all

Save yourself some lost time and a lot of heartache and just replace the transmission.
