2007 Mercedes C230

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car won't start and my local garage thinks the motor is bad. something
about a plastic gear cam in the engine that was a bad design (Greek to me).
Anyway, Should I take it to the dealership for a second opinion ($200
diagnostic fee).  Is an engine worth replacing. I have sources for good used
ones here in Dallas Or should I sell it to someone to part out. It's fully loaded
(how much would I expect to get?  Thanks in Advance!

More info on the car.The key turns the car sounds like it's trying to start but won't catch. Check Engine light on
