Turns over but wont start

I have a 97 chevy malibu that died while heading home
from work fuel pump kicks on. I  replaced the timing chain
cause of slack and the cam position sensor and still not
starting im getting frustrated about 4 months again put a
new ignition

Make sure battery has a full charge and cables/connections all good. Have a helper crank it while you visually check for spark at the plugs. If spark everywhere, use a gage and check proper fuel pressure? Also, check fuel injector pulse? Any applicable trouble codes? Those are the basic checks. Fuel--spark--compression and at the proper time.

since you changed the timing chain .. there is a big chance that the installation wasn't right .. what i mean by that is the camshaft is not aligned with the crankshaft so the engine will be out of time and it will shut off
