Charging system problems

Asked by MrMargarita Jan 05, 2019 at 04:33 PM about the 1997 Chevrolet Express G1500 RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Chevy express 1500 with 4.3
New alternator and it has been tested good.
New battery and terminals.
System is not charging and I don't have a warning
light on the dash.
Everything was working when the AC locked up
and broke the belt. Replaced the belt and AC. After
that had the alternator go out.
Any idea of what to check?

Fusible link in power wiring going to alternator has melted or do not know if that year has a alternator fuse.
