why does my 2007 Dodge Caliber switch from Drive to Neutral by itself while driving

I am sorry is that the shift cable? Not sure what is the linkage. Is this a cheap fix?

Sorry meant to say 'needs to b adjusted'. Yes the cable that connects your shifter in the car to the trans itself. At least start there. Did anything happen recently to have disturbed it? Of course it could b something else but I would at least start there! If you don't know how to check though you need to get someone who does. If you go to trans shop, please make sure you can trust them!
