CAN THE COIL PACK GO BAD IF ENGINE IS STARTED WITH THE WRONG FIRING ORDER?

Not sure about that but your plugs could have got to flooded with fuel causing them not to be able to fire and that would make it to seem like a coil pack is bad.

Those are the two engines for your model in 1997. Not sure which one you have but just in case you have any questions as to whether or not your firing order is correct now. You can check them out.
