Fault code is PD 0101- Mass Air Flow sensor circuitry

Asked by Guru9Z661Z Dec 18, 2020 at 10:39 AM about the 2002 Buick Regal LS Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2002 Buick Regal is shutting down (engine stops) intermittently after driving
for 4-10 mins. Fault code is PD 0101- Mass Air Flow sensor circuitry. Engine
starts after code is erased. Had Mass Air Flow Sensor replaced 24 months ago
after similar engine problem. Do these sensors fail or corrode this quickly? How
successful are the Mass Air Flow Sensor cleaners?

1 Answer

After two days with a new mass air flow sensor, all is well. Cleaning the previous 2 yr old sensor did not work.
