Knocking noise from '04 regal gs

First I will say thank you and sorry I have to post this for my son.
My son has a 2004 Buck Regal GS that his grandparents gave him as a
cherry.
I think he spun a rod bearing trying to get his car out of the snow but I have a
question.
Is it possible that a knocking sound similar to a spun bearing could be coming
from the super charger? I am checkeing the oil in it today.
The motor only has about 50,000 miles.

I doubt the supercharger would knock. Did he rev the engine past redline trying to get out of the snow?
