Stalling and starting issues

Asked by Brittney May 02, 2019 at 12:52 AM about the 2004 Buick Rainier CXL Plus RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I’ve had this car for about 2 months
and it has 140,000 miles on it, was
maintained excellent with all
paperwork up to date. I’ve recently
had issues with rough starts and
trying hard to turn over and catch. If it
catches it idles rough for about 20
seconds, if it doesn’t I typically try
once more and it will. I’ve also
noticed when I make turns it has
trouble accelerating. Well today it
stalled during a turn and I had to try
about 3 times to get it to start up
again. It’s not my battery or alternator
since my electric was still on. I also
just got my fuel injectors cleaned
since the guy at the shop when I got
my oil changed was so sure that was
the problem. I’m ready to take it to
the shop again but I don’t want to
pay for services that aren’t needed.
I’m thinking an idle air control valve or
my uncle said mass air filter ‍♀️ I also
don’t have a check engine light on.

140k miles? Want to sell it to me?? lol First things first on the I6 engine, disconnect fuses # 10 and #28. Remove throttle body, and clean both sides with a sensor safe spray like Seafoam, use only rag and toothbrush, as not to scratch the surfaces. You can also clean the MAF IF it has one, some years didn't have it, as it was incorporated into the MAP sensor. If it has an MAF, it's located on the plastic hoses heading out from the air box to the resonator. Located right in the middle.
