what causes the rear air shock compressor to go out. Can the conversion for the rear shocks be for this car

The car stayed in the up position and changed to the conversion kit and the
car will not stay up.

My opinion the compressor is poorly located under the car above the muffler and is subjected to the elements especially if you live where it snows and they use salt, all this causes the compressor rot. The conversion kit? You mean regular gas filled shocks?

I have a 1994 buick park avenue I'm trying to see why when I hit a bump my back and stays stiff like it won't bounce or nothing
