2007 Chrysler Pacifica not starting

2007 Chrysler Pacifica just died on my daughter while driving. the code read
P0513, immobilizer key not sending signal to powertrain. so I got a used
ignition key switch assembly and still not starting. Do I need to have that new
key switch programmed to the cars vin number before it will work?
