chevy blazer tire carrier

I need the storage assy w/crank and jack, which is stored underneath rear of vehicle. Has anyone ever heard of this tire and assembly just falling off??

the tire gets filled with dirt and road crap and the cable in the crank gets all rotted most times it breacks when you try and use it but i have seen them just fall off.
