Car won't start , I can hear the crank noise but won't start.

Asked by Yimbo Mar 03, 2014 at 12:55 PM about the 1998 BMW Z3 2.8 Roadster RWD

Question type: General

I checked the fuses replace mostly all of them, battery good , starter good, what might be
the problem? Maybe a short cut? Or gas pump is blocked?

You need to find out if it's either spark or fuel that is not allowing the vehicle to start. Removed the spark plugs after cranking and see if you can smell the fuel and there wet. Use a spark test to test and see if the car has spark while cranking.

Try checking your fuel pump. Your fuel pump probably seized. turn ignition to 1 then listen, if it's good you can hear the solenoid energizing. If not, you won't hear anything.
