When I got into my 2000 Volvo the vents were blowing out air. The air wasn't hot or cold, just air. I thought I was crazy. I put put my hand up to check and looked at the keys still in my other hand. Car started and everything was fine. The temo outside was hot, around 70. Can you explain? Thanks

Not sure where you had the temperature setting of the car, but since you had just started it, it was just blowing the air from the outside into your car. Did you put on the A/C to MAX and see if the car blew cold air?

I had not started the car. That's what was weird. When I park my car, I have a habit of turning everything off. I don't think I checked anything, just started my car and everything was fine. This happened about a week ago when the temp was very hot. I thought it might be some kind of safety feature. The inside was not hot and stuffy when I got in as it should have been.

Oh, your original post was kind of confusing. Yes, that's very weird. Your ignition may be getting worn. See if you can pull the keys out before you turn it all the way to the off position. I had a '95 Camry that I could pull the keys out of the ignition with the car still running. I could just start the car and pull them straight out. That shouldn't be a safety feature. If it were, people would have a lot of dead batteries in the desert states.

There's nothing wrong with your car. That's a feature Volvo's have to get rid of condensation in the A/C cannister. I had an 99' Audi A6 which did the same thing. The posts here explain it quite well : http://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=361763

Its the agter blow for condensation it's normal it will do it a lot when you use the air conditioning and in the summer time when it's really hot the hotter the car the more of the after blower will come on
