water leaking from above the gas pedal, flooding back footwells and front drivers side

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

i bought my 2003 volvo S60 last year and just recently noticed that the back
drivers side footwell was 2 to 3 inches under water.  I pulled the seats out and
the carpeting and can actually see the leak coming in as i use the a/c from a
spot located right above the gas pedal.  can anyone advise as to what action i
need to take stop this inconvenient swimming pool in my car?

There should be a rubber hose connecting the spot to the outside through the firewall. If the hose is missing you have to make up a new one. The trick is finding the opening for the house. A good tip is to start from the outside (under the car) and try to find the hose, or an opening where the hose used to be. Good luck :-)
