Is temperature reaching normal running temperature?, If not, replace thermostat. If it is, check to make sure there's coolant flowing through the heater core, a hose might be clogged up, restricting flow

99 tahoe . I swapped out the control unit itself, paid over 100$ for it on amazon but it worked fine after that. first i went to the junkyard and got a used one at the pick and pull. that one blew hot air but didnt switch from the vents to window defog. so that told me my heater was fine but my control was not working. hope this helps.
