Crank but won't start

I have a 98 Malibu and I replaced the battery in it
and ever since it's been doing weird things. I
replaced the battery and it started fine, but after
that, it started to mess up. You can turn key on and
the instrument cluster flashes on and off for like a
minute and then it finally stays on and then you can
start it.  If you try to start it like normally, without
watching the dashlike what we did before the
replacement, all it will do is crank. Also when the
dash stops flashing you can hear the fuel pump
click on. Please help. It's not the pass lock crap
though. We tried to do the reset on it and it didnt do
anything at all except take thirty minutes out of my
day.

Talked to the dealership and what happened is the ignition switch module broke. It was only sending out three to four volts so it caused everything to flash on the dash but not enough to start the fuel pump and ignition. So I had them replace it so they could reprogram it and now it's great. Starts on the first tik just like it used to.
