In a front wheel drive. the drive shaft is behind the CV joint then to the transmission. There should be a rubber boot covering the teeth (like a gear) on the end of the drive shaft. And keeps grease. You may have broke a tooth off and the shrapnel is stuck in the grease in the ruber boot. And causing it to grind. You will want to change the drive shaft. I don't recommend this but a quick fix would be to pull the boot back and clean all the grease out then replace the grease. If that fixes it then u will need to change the shaft a.s.a.p. if not repeat on the transmission end of the shaft

Been doing a little research,is it possible its the wheel bearing?do you have to replace the bearing or the whole spindle?

The spindle is part of the drive axle with the cv joints , all one unit. Unless there is a torn boot, the cv joints should be good.
