First start issues mr2

I have a 1996 Bathurst mr2 non turbo on the first start of the day it coughs and splutters, if I turn it off and restart it starts normally. No engine fault lights. If I use the started for a very short time if fires up immediately the second time and starts and runs normally after that any ideas thanks Roger

Could possibly have a fuel injector or two sticking open causing you to loose fuel pressure and the fuel could be soaking the spark plugs. Or possibly a faulty fuel pressure regulator not holding fuel pressure properly over night.
