Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2006 Audi A6 has a sound like it has a exhaust leak when accelerating. When you rev
the engine while it is in park you cannot hear it. I dont seem to have any power problems
or transmission slippage. Any Ideas?

check out your flex pipes common leaks are there. Its not visible but if you put your hand around the mesh you will find there is some blow off in odd places where the inner flex pipe has broken.

I am a novice and was wondering what it is going to take to check for vacuum leak. It only sounds like a leak when accelerating not while it is sitting. Inlet hoses look good. I am not sure what it is.

vacum leaks are simple look for the vacum hoses and jsut grab a bottle of soapy water in a spray bottle and spray the lines and look for bubles. Tho ussaly with vw and audis they come covered with a nilon cover. so if that is gone from your lines safe to say it leaks and get it replaced.
