get going fast on a dirt road and push the brakes as hard as you can and keep it straight

look for the ABS unit under the hood in the engine compartment, i would not suggest trying the 100 mph dirt track test, MAZDA only wants us to do that test on the CX-9' and the Pickups

turn your key on and look for an ABS light on dash...no light means no ABS...

The SE came standard with ABS in 2003. That was also the last year of the SE for the NB as the trim level was replaced by the Mazdaspeed for 04 and 05.

wait til its wet out, then get up to about 100 or so. then like mentioned above, slam on the brakes. ABS works alot better if your driving faster. dont believe me? what are the chances your going to need ABS at 5 km/h??

all 99 and younger cars came with ABS standard on LS and higher trim levels. So, the answer is yes, your car has abs. If you REALLY wanna make sure. get going at a nice clip, 50 mph or so, on a straight road and slam on your brakes. If you feel a rumbling like the brakes are very quickly being applied and let go, you have ABS. Drive carefully!
