Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hello club members,

I owned this Vanagon about a year ago after I sold my 1986 Vanagon. I've noticed that my engine runs hot easily on a hot weather and my high radiator fans comes on easily even it's just running for 10 minutes . I just wonder if my low radiator fan sensor is kicking in just a few minutes of driving.  Can someone please tell me if there is a low fan sensor on this Vanagons? Should a low radiator fan spins during idle? Your input would be appreciated. Thanks for reading.

The fan is two speed. There is one switch for the fan. Well, its a lot to explain, and this does it better!! http://www.gowesty.com/library_article.php?id=52
