locked left back door

Asked by HerbJordan45 Feb 28, 2010 at 06:35 PM about the 2004 Volkswagen Passat GLS

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2004 passat. My delima is, the the child saftey lock is engaged so the door cannot be opened from the inside. In the mean time the door cannot be opened from the outside because it appears there is some malfuntion / broken part probably mechanical that will not allow me to open it from the outside. The electronic mechanism is working and the door lock goes up and down.

Anyone have a suggestion on how to get the door open. Prefer not to take it to vw dealer.

This one is a real brain teaser.  Herb Jordan Due West, SC  hkjordan@wctel.net
