What causes random speedometer and temp gauge movement

Asked by Giffnock Jul 09, 2013 at 10:52 AM about the 1999 Chevrolet Tracker 4-Door 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Our 1999 1.6l manual Tracker has a problem with instruments. The temperature reads
normally until the car starts moving then it goes into the red zone. Also, if the temperature
is working correctly the speedometer does not move. Both speed and temp sensors have
been replaced.

Good morning Judge. Listen to him Giff.... he knows what he's talking about.....and your Tracker is not really a Chevrolet product, it's Suzuki, my point being that is the first problem

It is hard to have a 300 cold-cranking-amp connection because it tends to heat-up and weld itself at the location that it's at~...after a while this can get corroded and unreliable...examine your connections to be sure that amount of power is not going to have any trouble~ Mornin' DavidH25~
