Catalytic converter in exhaust plugged up. Fuel filter stopped up. Caliper sticking on brakes. Emergency brake cable stuck.

I would say (98% sure) your band is shot in the transmission. Two choices replace or limp. If you can't afford a new or rebuilt one (used ones are a gamble) you can limp it for a while. Drop the pan, change the filter and add new fluid. Then don't use the NFG gear. It will last for awhile but budget for a new/rebuilt one. Speaking from experience if you let it go with dirty fluid you will start taking out clutch packs. 2nd is usually the next to go which is a pain in the butt. There is a small chance that it is the valve body or shift solenoids but is it work the money to get it checked at a shop?? I will say that it is wierd that it will slip down to 5 mph after at speed without dropping a gear??? I hate 4l60-e, 4l60 and 700r4's. 30% of them work properly the other 70 drive you nuts.
