Asked by Pitdiesel80 Dec 20, 2016 at 07:59 PM about the 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe LT 2-Door RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Yes it was worn when I pulled it out. When I started
my truck two days ago smoke came out hood so I
turn off truck open hood and belt was popped up
torn. Bought new one but no crank nothing. All
pulleys are spinning freely even alternator.

1 Answer

Maybe your battery is dead due to the alternator not charging because of the bad fan belt. Charge the battery or jump start it.
