How do you fix a radio in a 2001 vw beetle that is stuck on default station after changing out the battery?

I do beleive that you will need to get a "security" code. if you dont have it, the dealer should. Best of luck,

Yes, take your vin number as well as proof of ownership (registration card/title/etc) to the VW dealer and they can give you the security code. Loss of battery voltage leads the radio to believe it has been stolen and thus it locks itself out.
