My 1999 volkswagon beetle wont start and the radio says safe. How can I fix it

The radio in safe mode and the car not starting are two different issues. The Radio goes into safe mode when there is a loss of power to the car. So with that being said I think you car is not starting because of something to do with your battery or electrical system. Get that fixed and then the radio needs your 6 digit code found in the owners manual to reset it. if you don't have it, there is no magic number you can put in to reprogram the radio, you will need to go to the dealer for reprogramming...
