2006 Volkswagon Jetta 2.5 Engine noises/grinding? Transmission??

I have a 2006 Volkswagon Jetta 2.5 Recently I have started hearing rubbing/grinding noises coming from the engine. I thought rubbing in the wheel wells but couldn't find anything there. Oil level is fine. coolant level was low but not bad. no water pump or over heating issues. no steering, braking, or shifting issues that is see. noises started coming while driving down the road(interstate) when turning the steering wheel slightly to the right? noises sometimes stop and go? sometimes sound different? sometimes louder than others???

If it grinds only while being driven, I would suspect the front wheel bearings are failing. If it grinds only while parked, that would be an engine problem...I hope not.

I had this issue too. Actually going to try and find it tomorrow but the guy I bought it from said it was when they removed the bottom skid plate under the engine it caused the fender linders to blow into the vent on then and push them into the wheel/axel. I'll update tomorrow with what I find even though it's been 2 years
