Vw jetta transmission

Automatic transmission!! The plastic piece that
covers seeing into the shifter got snagged and
wouldn't let me into drive so i ripped it out now my
car will go into drive but is stiff when I get it to
drive n can't get it pasted 3rd to get into 2nd
