2002 VW Jetta, bad auto trans, what is it worth?

IMV $4300 – $1500 for trans = $2800 – hassle of buyer dealing with transmission and not being able to do a real test drive, can't tell if there are other problems, – $ 300 = $2500 Tops

I can do a real test drive as it only has a delay shifting from 3rd to 4th at about 35 mph. It shifts into reverse and all other gears normally, and engine runs fine. It has no oil leaks. I forgot, the check engine light comes on and off and code reads P0343. Camshaft position sensor? Does this mean it needs a timing belt and camshaft position sensor replaced?

If it has never had a timing belt since new, you are on borrowed time, no pun intended. Needs it now. But has nothing to do with P0343, cam pos. sensor http://engine-codes.com/p0343.html

Say you list on craigslist, you have all kinds of characters coming to your house, so many, and eBay Shipping costs add up in a hurry, and you have to post a disclaimer all sales final, people buy ECU's and electrical parts, find out they don't need it, was not the problem then want to return it to you. Much more like that
