1999 Chevy Suburban, 5.7 L. 148,000 miles, all power options #5 cylinder code
My truck did not pass NH state inspection emissions test because:
bank 1, sensor 1- O2 sensor
#5 cylinder
check engine light was also burnt out
I replaced all 8 spark plugs, both front O2 sensors, cap & rotor and check engine bulb
I have not replaced plug wires, have not replaced air filter, did not replace coil pak
(but it's only one code for one cylinder) have not had oil changed yet, there is not
"rotten egg" smell.
No codes for O2 sensors, but, still a code for the #5 cylinder and the check engine
light is still on, I can clear it with a scanner, but within a mile it comes back on.
My truck runs like it's brand new- there is no "skip" or "miss" because of the #5
cylinder. Smooth acceleration, plenty of power, idles quietly.
If I clear the check engine light right before it is inspected will it pass? Does the #5
cylinder have anything to do with emissions?
